Prof. Sarah Chiumbu
Founding Partner
Prof. Sarah Chiumbu is a highly accomplished media and communication specialist with more than two decades of experience in research, strategy, and consulting across Africa.
She combines academic depth with practical expertise in development communication, public policy, and digital transformation. Her work focuses on strengthening communication systems, promoting media freedom, and advancing social inclusion through participatory and evidence-based approaches.
Sarah has successfully led and contributed to numerous high-impact projects commissioned by international development partners, government institutions, and civil society organisations. She is known for her analytical insight, strong facilitation skills, and ability to translate complex research findings into actionable policy and programme strategies.
Mr. Ransom Mahaka
Senior Associate
Ransom Mahaka is a communication strategist with more than two decades of experience across the Pan-African development and commercial sectors. He brings to Mayamiko Kisa the strategy-facing counterpart to the firm’s research strength: turning evidence into communication that works, and building the capacity of the organisations that must carry it.
His career spans senior leadership in marketing communications agencies across Zimbabwe, Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya, and long-standing development-sector consulting with funders, international NGOs and civil society organisations. He authored the African Union Commission’s first corporate communications policy and has trained more than 200 upcoming African communications practitioners. Known for combining creative instinct with commercial discipline, a heart for people and a head for business, Ransom helps organisations clarify what they stand for, say it well, and strengthen the teams who sustain it.
